From the Series:
Thomas served on the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas for eight years, from 1943 until his resignation in 1951. During his tenure on the Board, he manifested a lively interest in academic, athletic, and societal aspects of university life, a concern attested to in the correspondence contained in this series.
