Records of NAFSA activities which were kept in the central or executive office, the files consist mainly of correspondence and reports pertaining to committee activities, including the executive committee and board of directors. Until 1969/70 they were identified mainly by the names of the individuals who were responsible for the various association interests. These files are separated by fiscal year and arranged alphabetically within each fiscal year. Supplementary files, apparently from presidents' offices, pertaining to committee activities (1950s, 1963/64, 1966/67), the Advisory Committee on Development (1965-1969), J. Brockmann (1967), and L. Zeigler (1968), follow the 1969/70 files. (Jeanne Brockmann was Executive Assistant, 1960, and Executive Secretary, 1962-1965; A. Lee Zeigler was a member of NAFSA's Board of Directors, 1964/65-1967/68, and President, 1971/72.) Reflecting the growth of the association, from 1970/71 the records are separated by fiscal year and then classified by committees, commissions, sections, regions, task forces, special projects, and inter-associational activities. Pre-1978 files pertaining to NAFSA Liaison, arranged alphabetically by name of institution, and membership card files close Group 3. There has been only minor rearrangement of folders; folder titles and the original order of the collection have been largely preserved.

Materials in Boxes 197-210, 268-283, and 319-328 added as part of a processing project adding all MC 715a and MC715c materials to the overall collection in September 2022. They were subjected to minimal rearrangement and are described at the folder level.
