Within each subseries, material is arranged according to date on the item. Family correspondence includes letters to and from CMW and his immediate family and other relatives concerning personal activities, health, schooling, business and real estate affairs, and comments on CMW's work. Personal correspondence includes letters to and from CMW and personal acquaintances about CMW's activities, work, health, and personal business and real estate affairs. Professional correspondence includes letters to and from agents and publishing houses and is concerned primarily with CMW's work.
