Negatives are in protective sheets and arranged in rough chronological order. A few have been matched with prints in the collection. Information given below (enclosed in quotation marks) was taken from envelopes orginally containing the negatives.

Negative sheets are numbered ("1," "2," etc.) and, when necessary, individual negatives in each sheet are assigned a letter (e.g., "2a," "14d") starting with "a" at upper left and continuing the lettering across each row, then down to the next row (negative sheet oriented so that holes for binder are at top).
