The entries for July, 1842 through October, 1844 pertain to Williams' business in Pine Bluff. Leaving that city in 1845, he settled in Van Buren, and entries for the period November, 1846 through August, 1869 reflect his conduct of business there in partnership, from time to time, with Edward Cunningham, John Henry, and William Whitfield.
