Scope and Content Note

These papers were collected both as a family record and as a chronicle of Uniontown. They contain both family papers and photographs and materials pertaining to the Uniontown community.

The Lula Jane Howell Papers contain correspondence, the diary of Lula Jane (Comstock) Howell, a history of the community of Uniontown, a history of the Poage (spelled variously "Poague") family by Lula (Lucinda) Jane Poage Howell, and a collection of photographs.

Scope and Content Note The papers were preserved by the Uniontown Christian Church as a chronicle of its activities from the inception of the church late in the nineteenth century to the present. These materials are a history both of the church itself and of the individual members of the community of Uniontown who were its members. Materials in the collection include: a small body of correspondence from Andrew Scott to the Churches of Christ in Illinois, from A. M. Baker to J. D. Hart, and from J. D....
